When planning an event, you must make sure it stands out and speaks to what your audience wants to see. Whether you’re planning a dance party or a themed event, it’s vital that you take your time and find the right entertainment for your needs.
These are the top questions to ask yourself when planning your next event!
How Many People Are Attending?
The number of guests you have can change your entertainment type. Although six or seven drag queens can make a party of two hundred keep laughing and having fun: having six or seven of them in a party of twenty people can leave things a little overwhelming.
Similarly, if you’re throwing a party of twenty people or less, you don’t want to hire a huge swing band unless there’s a specific reason. Your guests would be stunned: but it would also probably be incredibly loud for your smaller event space.
Is This Indoors or Outdoors?
The space that you’re using as your venue should have enough room for whatever type of entertainment you’re hiring. This means that if you’re hiring trapeze artists, you have plenty of room for them outside, and if you’re hiring child actors to put on a play for your kid’s birthday, give them the stage or setup they need!
Indoors or outdoors could also matter for whether your entertainment needs speakers or not, or if they’ll be able to project their voices because you rented out a theater space. Pay attention to the locations you consider.
What’s the Theme or Purpose?
What theme is your party going for? Are you throwing a pirate party? If so, a live mermaid is a great match! If you’re throwing a Bridgerton party, you could hire actors who know how to put on all the pomp and glamor expected for that type of event!
How Much Room Is In Your Budget?
What can you afford? If your event is large enough and you can afford it, multiple types of entertainment are always a great way to show off and keep people stunned through the event. On the other hand, if your budget is tighter, you can look for entertainment that’s willing to accept payment via tips from your audience and guests!
What Entertainment Have You Enjoyed at Events?
When you’ve attended events in recent years: what types of entertainment stood out the most to you? Did you find yourself stunned by extraordinary acrobatic acts? Were you into the garage band acts? Although you don’t want to copy another event at a one-for-one ratio: it’s okay to take inspiration! If you loved their activities, consider how this would work for your event or what similar performer would bring that kind of energy to your party.
Your Event Should Stand Out
Whether you’re throwing a birthday party or a graduation event, your event must speak to the guests there. Consider some of these questions before throwing your next event!
